Folk Arts: Arts Westchester. Crotona Park Ghana Cultural Festival. Photo by Aaron Paige. Bronx-based Ghanaian musicians, joined by Master Drummer Francis Akotuah (center), perform Kpanlogo, a Ga ethnic dance from Accra. Created in the mid-20th century by urban youth, the songs of this recreational dance-drumming genre call for social unity, justice, and honesty. On August 5th, 2017 the National Ghana Parade Council organized its annual Ghana Cultural Festival in Crotona Park, Bronx NY. The full-day-event featured live music, communal dancing, Ghanaian foods, and free public health services.
