Live Performing Arts Return to New York!

This week we celebrated the return of live performances at the opening of JACK’s new space at 20 Putnam Ave and the reopening of Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre! NYSCA is thrilled to see the return of performances from Brooklyn to Broadway and all across New York State!

NYSCA supports organizations of all sizes and disciplines that celebrate New York’s brilliant, vibrant and diverse artistic community. To respond to the field’s most urgent needs, NYSCA has awarded more than 700 grants across the state to spur live performances between July and December 2021.

Read a letter below from NYSCA’s ED, and Chair, celebrating this exciting moment for all New Yorkers:

To New York's artists and the broader community who support the return to live performances throughout all corners of New York State –

We wish to acknowledge the role you play in our collective health and vitality!  Not only are the arts a driver of our economic health, we live better, more inspired lives when we enjoy live performances across the many artistic disciplines practiced in New York!

The journey has not been easy, and resuming performance while meeting New York's thoughtful health and safety protocols requires care and attention to detail, and we appreciate that you are working hard to keep us safe!

We are so thrilled to be back in the audience!

With best wishes,

Mara and Katherine
