See, Observe, Think, Reflect, Internalize: Photography by Collette V. Fournier

Collette V. Fournier’s award-winning photographic work will grace Gallery One and Gallery Two, opening April 2, 2022 in an exhibit titled “See, Observe, Think, Reflect, Internalize.” Fournier’s exhibit is a documentation of her photography and photojournalism travels around the globe, beyond her search for roots of African American people and how slavery was acknowledged in Africa.

With eleven one-woman exhibitions, forty-one group exhibitions, and numerous publications, Collette has completed a personal narrative on her journey through the photographic arts. Fournier takes us through her journey of the everyday in a classroom in Senegal, to the Million Dollar March in Philadelphia back to the worn-torn streets after Katrina in New Orleans, to a Queen Mother Ceremony in Ghana and the Queen Mother.

Her works are in the photographic collections of EnFoco, Inc., the Smithsonian Institute’s national African-American Museum Project, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Women in Photography International Archive, Photography Collections Preservation Project, New York , NY and in private collections.
