Kids Arts Festival

Stage entertainment for the 28th annual Kids Arts Festival kicks off at noon with Alex Torres & his Latin Orchestra teaching kids the percussion of Afro-Caribbean music and then inviting kids in groups of seven onstage to perform with his band.

More than 40 activities will keep kids of all ages engaged. Kids will help paint two different murals, try their hand at a pottery wheel, create poems and then learn how to turn them into rap songs, listen to master storyteller Mike Conn or they can help to create the Electric City Rainbow Eagle.

Rain location is inside the Proctors complex.

Complete activities, entertainment and sponsors are on the festival website at www.kidsartsfestivalschenectady.com.

Franklin and Jay streets around Schenectady City Hall will be closed to traffic and parking during the festival. Complimentary parking is available along nearby streets, in public parking lots and at the Broadway garage. For parking locations and information, visit www.parkschenectady.com.
