Triggered, Truth & Transfomation Exhibit

Artist Theda Sandiford channels microaggressions – intentional or unintentional verbal or behavioral slights that communicate hostile or negative attitudes toward culturally marginalized groups – she faces every day into her artwork. The resulting exhibition, “Triggered, Truth & Transformation,” will be on display at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY, from March 25 to May 28, 2023. Visitors are invited to bring an item that represents microaggressions they have faced and deposit them in one of the decorated grocery carts. They are also invited to write microaggressions on a ribbon and tie it to a fishing net as a way to release the pain.
