Rural Voices Rising: Can Art Subvert Media’s Narrative?

Lake Placid artist Susan Hoffer seeks to challenge people’s beliefs about residents of New York’s Adirondack region through the detailed paintings in her solo exhibition. She uses the words of her subjects as they talk about weighty topics, including reproductive rights, voting, and racism.
