The Swimsuits Series – A Pictorial Reflection on Women’s Rights

"The Swimsuits series: a pictorial reflection on women’s rights" by French artist Fleur Spolidor is currently on display at the Jay Heritage Center in Rye, NY. The exhibition opened on October 8th as part of the NY State’s Path Through History . The Jay Heritage Center is a non-profit dedicated to transforming the 23-acre Jay Estate into a vibrant educational campus, hosting innovative and inclusive programs about American History, Social Justice, Architecture and Environmental Stewardship.

While being on display at the European Union delegation to the UN for several months, and during the 67th commission on the status of women, the “Swimsuits series” won an Arts Alive Grants administered by ArtsWestchester. It was one of 124 projects awarded a 2023 Arts Alive Grant on July 14, 2023.

In this series, the artist focuses her research and her brushes on the complicated situations that women find themselves confronted with during their lives.
