Pop-Up Concerts: Rebekah Heller, Righteous Rage - Music for Bassoon
A virtuosic bassoonist, conductor, and core member of the International Contemporary Ensemble, Rebekah Heller is celebrated for reimagining the bassoon's possibilities through adventurous performances and groundbreaking commissions. In this Pop-Up Concert, she performs a program of new music for bassoon choir by composers from the African Diaspora, including the world premiere of "Righteous Rage" by Brittany J. Green, which was inspired by and is in direct conversation with another work on the program, Julius Eastman’s The Holy Presence of Joan d’Arc (originally for 10 cellos).
